Henri-Edmond Cross Prints
Henri-Edmond Cross was a leading figure of Neo-Impressionism. Instead of mixing colour on the palette he placed separate touches on the canvas; the mixing happens in the eye, and from a distance the surface vibrates.
The Cross works in this section come as three-piece sets — hung side by side, the three pieces read as one composition. Because the colour touches sit on a light ground, white and oak frames keep the surface open while a black frame hardens the contrast.
For the other name of the same movement, see Paul Signac.
